Lock 4 MTB Park Local is Top U.S. Elite Finisher at Cross Triathlon World Championships

Craig Evans (Hendersonville, Tenn.) was the top U.S. elite finisher, placing second to earn silver on the men's side in 2 hours, 12 minutes, 58 seconds on the 1,500-meter swim, 30-kilometer mountain bike, 10-kilometer trail run course. South Africa's Conrad Stoltz repeated as men's champion in 2:12:11. Evans, who was 10th a year ago at Cross Worlds in Extremadura, Spain, had the lead out of the swim, and rode in front of Stoltz for much of the bike. However, Stoltz made his winning push in the last 10 kilometers of the bike and held the lead the rest of the way.

Craig got his first taste of Xterra at Gallatin's Lock 4 Blast Xterra in 2000,  he has since won the event at Gallatin 10 times. The Lock 4 Blast Xterra is one the longest running Xterra's in the US. and this years  is scheduled for June 30th, 2012.  Craig always enjoys doing the Lock 4 Blast, "Its fun to try to keep the streak going, however, its more rewarding  to share the experience with the local community."

Craig moved to Long Hollow Pike in Hendersonville 2 years ago, to be closer to Lock 4 and his Team BC Teammates.  Team BC has a team of  3 pros and 17 top amatuer  riders who have earned multiple State Champion and Southeastern Champion titles.
